LA JOLLA:
La Jolla Submarine Canyon is a 6,000 acre marine habitat highly popular with divers and snorkelers. Its rocky shelves, dropping from 40 to 800 feet, are teeming with marine life.
The novice or less talented diver or snorkeler will enjoy the less challenging Casa Cove.
Less adventuresome vacationers will enjoy visiting the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
Keep in mind, when visiting The Birch Aquarium at Scripps, that it is a research facility, not intended for your amusement like Sea World. The La Jolla Playhouse houses one of the nation’s finest resident companies and should not be missed.
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, La Jolla facility, has been in existence since 1945, way before contemporary art museums were considered cool and contemporary museums proliferated across the nation. Modern art and sculpture are displayed both inside and out.
Women wannabee surfers even have their own instructor for classes: Surf Diva in La Jolla Shores.
If you’re in the need for rejuvenation, La Jolla Spa M.D. is considered one of America’s Top Spas by “American Spa Magazine.”
